Abstract

Studies on a teak plantation of the Kinshasa region (Zaire) – A teak plantation established in part in 1935 and in 1947 in  the vicinity of Kinshasa was assessed both from the point of view of  dendrometry and silviculture. Compared to other teak plantations that can be  found elsewhere in Africa and whose yield is actually known, the Kinshasa  plantation looks promising. The standing volume projected at the end of the  rotation would amount to about 200 m3 /ha based on the present state of  development and maintenance of the forest.
